Matt Gresham

Self-taught developer building secure AI systems, offline-first tools, and cybersecurity tooling.

I build real-world tools that solve real problems — LLM security scanners, local-first finance trackers, search engines, and hardware cyberdecks. Currently Head of Testing at Polaris Student, web developer for Neurole.

Flagship Projects

The work I'm most proud of — each is deployed, tested, and documented.

PythonAICybersecurityLive Demo

LLM Protector Used by real people

Security scanner that probes a local LLM for prompt-injection and jailbreak vulnerabilities — 50 attacks across 11 categories, grading each model with a severity-weighted risk score. Headless benchmark pipeline compares multiple models; live demo replays a real recorded scan instantly.

PythonReactAIFinanceFull Stack

Stock Analysis Engine Used by real people

Full-stack tool turning live stock data into computed metrics, candlestick charts, and technical indicators — then chat with an AI analyst grounded in those exact numbers. Shared core/ math powers both the online FastAPI + React app and an offline Streamlit mode needing no AI or API keys.

PythonMathFinanceFull StackWeb Dev

The Finance Kit Used by real people

Full-stack finance tracker (Python + Streamlit) tracking expenses, income, subscriptions, budgets, and tax estimates. Clean frontend/backend split with shared data layer — deployed on Streamlit Cloud. Started as a school submission; evolved into a production app I use daily.

GoReactWeb Dev

Magellan Search Engine Used by real people

Go web spider crawling from a seed URL, indexing content into SQLite, with a React frontend for browser-based search. Deployed on Vercel — a from-scratch search stack to understand how indexing and ranking actually work.

Work Experience

Polaris Student — Head of Testing

2025–present · polarisstudent.com

Lead QA for an all-in-one academic platform (grade tracking, AI study assistant, college planning, FAFSA deadlines). Own the QA process end-to-end: manual test passes, bug triage, automated regression checks on core flows. Mentor a 3-person testing team.

Neurole — Web Developer

2025–present · neurole.org

Modernizing the neuroscience education platform's frontend — React migration, visual refresh, archive system for daily clinical diagnosis puzzles. Content authored in Google Sheets, pulled as CSV with Cloudflare Worker fallback.

Saphan Siam Foundation — Social Media Lead (Eagle Scout Project)

2025–present

Sole technical/communications lead building the non-profit's entire social presence from scratch across Line, Facebook, Instagram. Content strategy, platform setup, community growth.

Currently Building

tinyGPTDiscontinued

From-scratch character-level GPT in PyTorch — attention, causal masking, positional encoding, training loop all hand-written. This project informed the architecture of Clyde and is no longer actively developed.

MedicalAI — LightweightLearning

Fusing frozen CLIP chest X-ray embeddings with Bio_ClinicalBERT symptom text into a lightweight offline diagnosis model for rural care. Research project — not a medical device.

ClydeIn Progress

An AI bot in training — conversational agent with persistent memory, tool use, and modular skill system. Built to learn continuously from interactions, store context in a vector database, and expand capabilities through a plugin architecture. Current focus: long-term memory consolidation, multi-step reasoning, and safe autonomous operation.

PetriIn Progress

Defensive Linux sandbox manager in Rust (egui + Docker). Create locked-down containers with capability drops, memory/process caps, network/write access only when granted. State-machine-driven lifecycle. Not a detonation environment yet.

CyberdeckIn Progress

Custom portable computer (DFCD-based): Pi 5, sliding touchscreen, hidden mechanical keyboard, trackball, NP-F battery, rotary encoder. Custom OS layer, offline docs (Grimoire), comms module (NFC+LoRa). Software done; hardware blocked by cost.
